The final episode for this season. I know this episode will surely show “the power of friendship” with our heroes working together to defeat the enemies, but I must confess, this exceeds my expectations.

Started with the group’s effort to defeat the robot army, apparently it’s not just the usual heroes we know and love. This time, a large army from Judgement appear and work together. Kongou fights with her esper powers (great team work from her two friends) and with her father’s technology. I was like, what? Kongou airlines? And her ability is Aero Hand? What coincidence is that?

Mikoto is carrying Febri to the enemy’s headquarter. Obviously some robot guards are ready to stop her, equipped with artificial meltdown beam. The result of our villains’ study to copy Mugino’s ability. After some cool fighting scene from our beloved Railgun, she manages to sneak into the base when Mugino arrives with her team to destroy the robots with fake version of her ability.

The bad guys is blocking radio communications of our heroes, making it difficult for them to coordinate. Then Haruue and Banri appears. They coordinate espers with telepathy ability, and use telepathy as coordination method. When the villains are trying to destroy everyone using giant manned robots, Anti-skills appear with another giant robot. Here’s the surprise. The robot is a product of Kongou Airlines. And the robot’s name is: Ekaterina II S (remember the name of Kongou’s pet snake?). Seriously… the robot and the snake share the same name? I’m speechless.

When Mikoto successfully passes all their defenses, Aritomi launched “the final phase” of the operation. Which basically launched a missile from outer space, precisely aimed to Academy City. Then he tried to commit suicide, only to be stopped by Mikoto.

With the help of Sisters network, they manage to calculate the missile’s route, and prepare a mission to stop the missile before it enters Earth’s atmosphere. Mikoto and Kuroko is going to space using Ekaterina II S. And Kongou’s Aero Hand ability is the launch trigger.

I kinda lost on explaining how Mikoto and Kuroko survive in outer space, without oxygen. But nonetheless, Mikoto successfully blasts the core unit of Ekaterina II S to destroy the missile, and returns to Earth surface with Kuroko’s teleport ability (this one makes more sense). And friendship wins !

With our bad guys defeated, Febri is saved by some lollipop stock. Janie wakes up. And Shinobu decide to treat Febri and Janie in overseas facility (presumably to remove their dependency to those lollipops). Everyone’s happy, until the next adventure. Can’t wait for season 3 !

I really really love Railgun anime. Watching final episode always make me excited and sad at the same time. Sad because there won’t be Misaka next week. Anyway, this season was basically only 1 mini arc (first opening episode), then one long Sisters arc, then Febri arc. Too many episodes are dedicated for Sisters arc, in my opinion. Thankfully they executed the arc excellently, giving us another (loveable) perspective for a store we already knew from the first season of Index.
