After few introduction episodes, Kirito finally enters the game world of Gun Gale Online. His avatar is a rare avatar that looks like a female avatar. When I saw the anime opening, I always thought that Kirito took a female avatar by choice. Apparently it’s still a male avatar, with girly look.
As expected, of course our hero meets our new heroine within the first few minutes of his first exploration in GGO. Sinon mistakenly thinks that Kirito is a girl player, therefore she helps Kirito a lot with getting the equipment to start playing GGO. And that damn Kirito can quickly switch his talking style (and even hand gestures) into girly mode.
As a new character, Kirito can keep his stat from previous server (ALO). However, his items are reset and his game money is set to the newbie first amount. He needs a lot of money to buy weapons that will suit his stats. And of course the writers have prepared a quick way for Kirito to earn quick money through an arcade game. Man, that’s beyond cheating (I’m talking about the script writers here).
With more than 300,000 game currency, Kirito can now purchase decent equipment. His choice is… of course another sword. Sword in a gun-based world? Really? Well, it’s a lightsaber, but essentially still a sword.
Thankfully Kirito still gets a gun for his secondary weapon. I would be very upset to see a player with lightsaber dominating a gun-based virtual world. That would be a total imbalance, no matter how fast he is. Let me give you a little prediction, Kirito will become an expert in using gun next episode, even his very first attempt to fire a gun went really bad in this episode.
