Ledo and Chamber manages to destroy the entire colony of whalesquids. The Pinion takes control by grabbing all the treasures from mankind’s lost time, including weapons. Very typically human, having power changes him, a lot. He announces himself as the one destroying all the whalesquids and threatens every ship not to go near them to steal the treasure. So much for the initial “wish” to use the lost knowledge for the benefit of all humans. Heck, Pinion declares himself as the new mafia boss. And his next destination is clear: control and power over the strongest human colony.
With Ledo still deeply shocked with the new information about Hideauze’s origins, there’s not much he can do about Pinion. And Chamber does give an interesting point of view about two basic decision of mankind: evolution or civilization.
