Considering the fast pace of earlier episodes, I had expected some action-packed episode this week. Apparently I was wrong. This episode is more about Shiroe’s inner battle rather than battle against the bad guy.
So here in Log Horizon, there is no clear goal like defeating 100 floors of bosses to be able to log out. Last week we knew that food can taste good as long as it is cooked not from game menu, but cooked with real “manual” process. But only our heroes know this. The rest of other players are still “living” this virtual world without any goal. And so naturally human, the strong will start taking control, dominating the weak. The cheaters will find a way to abuse the system and gain benefits from it.
A guild named Hamelin is recruiting players of lower level, only to “get” special item for low level. This item enables a player to level up faster and increase the attack power, something high-level players should not use. This Hamelin guild gets these items from their members, then sell it to high level players.
While our heroes rescued Serara from other cities, the condition of Akihabara itself is not much better. The atmosphere is gloomy and players are “segmented” based on their strengths and their guilds. And after long process of hesitation, Shiroe is ready to change this situation. How? We need to be patient and wait for next week’s episode to find out.
