It’s a new season ! And this is my first choice of anime to blog. Log Horizon is another story of online game with full-dive technology where player “enters” virtual world, fighting monsters using their virtual body instead of using some controllers. Once again these players are somehow trapped inside Elder Tale virtual world and can’t log out for unknown reason.
Our main hero is Shiroe, a mage/wizard character. His character is a bit more into a thinker or strategist rather than typical hero who usually swordman/knight type. Shiroe has two traveling companions. The first one is Naotsugu, a defender (shield-type) character. The second one is Akatsuki, a female assassin character.
There’s a guild system in Elder Tale too. Shiroe seems to have good relationship with Marielle (a cleric character) and Henrietta (a bard character) from Crescent Moon Alliance guild.
So far we know that all food in the virtual world taste the same, and all drink just taste like water. Fighting monsters can be done using the visual control using players’ fingers, or players can just move their body according to the skill of their class and the skill will work. Still no information about whether death in the game world would mean death in the real life or not. A rather slow-paced first episode, I would say, but still very promising. I can’t wait to watch the next episode !
