So kyoukai no kanata is somehow still alive, and Mirai is still fighting kyoukai no kanata in an alternate space in the sky invisible to normal eyes. Thanks to that unnamed guy from Spirit Hunter Association, kyoukai no kanata becomes visible, stronger, and literally absorbing other youmu to increase its strength. Akihito and friends now realize that the battle against kyoukai no kanata is not yet ended.
At critical moment, our heroes receive a mysterious invitation to go to the club room. And the one sending those invitations are not other than… Kanbara Yayoi (Akihito’s mom). So Yayoi convinced Akihito that Mirai is indeed still alive and fighting alone. Akihito is now a normal human, so Yayoi shows him his youmu stone, by absorbing that stone, Akihito has the option to get his half-youmu side back because he need that to go to Mirai’s place and help her.
Izumi arrives, not sure for what reason. The rest of the group are now determined to save Mirai. In the last few minutes Akihito finally can go to meet Mirai again, in the middle of her fight against kyoukai no kanata.
Overall a good episode. Rather imaginative as a lot of things are still not quite clear yet. We still have unanswered questions about the plot, but at least now we know there’s a chance to save Mirai. And that alone makes me happy watching this episode.
