Moe is in the air… heroine with megane (glasses) and real supernatural ability to create swords from her own blood. A not-ordinary male hero, an immortal. Add some monsters and seemingly some politics. Supernaturally moe ! KyoAni is back !
I have no complain with the artwork, but the story so far… is kinda weird for me, even for anime standard. For the first 5-10 minutes, I actually thought this is another chuunibyou anime. Apparently that red sword is real.
Kyoukai no Kanata’s world has normal humans, has creatures called youmu (dreamshade), and has humans who hunts spirits. Our story tells a story about a boy named Kanbara Akihito with normal appearance who is also half-human half-dreamshade, and he’s immortal. Our main heroine is Kuriyama Mirai, a shy girl wearing glasses who is also a spirit hunter from a special lineage with ability to manipulate her blood to take shape as a red sword.
One day, Akihito saw Mirai tried to commit suicide and attempted to save her. As a result, Mirai stabbed him with her blood-sword. Akihito didn’t die, being an immortal being. But since then, Mirai is following him everywhere, using him as exercise target to stab, because she’s afraid of killing other dreamshades. She can stab Akihito many times without killing him, making him a perfect “practice target”.
