Alis wants to destroy the world to save it, and Ai agrees to help him as long as it really will save the world. That’s how this episode is opened. The rest of the school group stays somewhere in the parents of one of them. I guess this is just a convenient way to “get rid” of them and continue with the next plot.
Next, we have a little arc about Scar the Gravekeeper. Apparently she disappeared without taking the baby Celica with her. And now the baby can point the direction where to find Scar. And so Ai, Yuri, Alis and Dee (the ghost) are setting up a journey to find Scar.
During the search, the group is having a little fun with Alis’s birthday party. Though I’m quite understand how they have the ingredient for the cake. Certainly not the kind of thing people will normally bring in such aimless traveling in a car.
Following Celica’s direction, Ai and the group arrives in a mysterious place: the birthplace of Gravekeepers. When it was said that Gravekeepers weren’t born, they just appear out of nowhere, I never thought it would be something cool like this. So there are bright stuff, kinda like lightning, then there’s a blast, then Gravekeepers appear out of nowhere. Not just one or two, but many of them, with identical look. Like the entire place is a photocopy machine. Or is it cloning facility?
Apparently some Gravekeepers are indeed identical. Though there are Gravekeepers who are one of a kind.
Dee refuses to go further down the road in this Gravekeepers’ birth place, so she left. I don’t quite understand the following scene about Ai seeing her parents. Illusion?
Scar is really there, looking very confused about herself. My guess last week was wrong. Yuri didn’t die and there is no suspiciously dark thing about Scar’s disappearance. She loves Celica, but Gravekeepers are not supposed to have feeling. So she was confused. And she thought her attachment to Celica will hinder her “job” as a Gravekeeper. Yuri solves Scar’s identity problem by a one-sided “love” declaration that he will take care of her so she just need to follow. And so Scar returns to the group, we get to see her birthplace, everyone’s happy.
