The rabbit (or Nekogami-sama?) took Yuuto and Tsukiko back to 2003 (10 years ago). What they find out there, is different from what they remember. Young Yuuto knows Tsukasa (mother of Tsutsukakushi siblings) well. And she doesn’t live with her daughters. Despite being an ideal mother, she’s a messed up lady, doesn’t even cook, but still kind-hearted.
So it’s either Tsukiko, Tsukushi and Yuuto’s memories are being altered, or Nekogami-sama (the deity behind cat statues) shows them a fake past, or the entire “present” time is actually a product of someone’s wish (a completely altered reality).
Since Tsukasa seems to be a nice person after all, I suspect she has a strong reason to appear “bad” to her daughters. Seeing those pills she takes… perhaps a serious disease?
