For many generations, the Miduchi family always have a daughter to continue the holy line of water-element priest. Things change when Miyako, current head priest of Miduchi, died without having a daughter.
Instead of having a daughter, Miyako has two sons, Noboru and Tooru. This makes Noboru as the new head of Miduchi Clan and becomes the first male head of the Clan. Tenko Kuugen, a fox deity, is the protector of Miduchi family. Being a very powerful astral fox, Kuugen can take either male or female form as she wish (I will use “she” to refer to Kuugen as she use female form more often). Kuugen was not really Miduchi’s protector. Because of something in distant past, Kuugen was sealed in Miduchi Clan’s temple and being worshiped as protector. In fact she dislikes the Miduchi family for sealed her inside a giant stone for many generations. It was Miyako who can communicate to Kuugen not as a “protector”, but as a friend. And so when one day Tooru (the younger son) is being targeted by a specter, Kuugen decided to help. As the new head of Miduchi Clan, Noboru refuses to put Kuugen back to the sealing stone. And so now Kuugen has new assignment : to become the protector of Noboru and Tooru. Imagine if you have a guardian deity with high spiritual power in your own house, this series will surely entertain us with nice storyline and good graphical animation. Don’t miss Kuugen’s flirty female version and Kou, the clumsy sentinel. Recommended for all ages. My rating : ★★★☆☆ Seiyuu
