In the country of Gazth-Sonika, civil war rages. Madlax, the main character is a mercenary with supernatural skill. She lost her past memory and can only remember a small piece about her father in the middle of war.
In the seemingly peaceful country of Nafrece, Margaret Burton lives a tranquil life. Both her parents were died in an accident long ago. Vanessa lives beside Margaret’s house and became her tutor several years ago. One day, Vanessa found a clue about the truth behind civil war in Gazth-Sonika.
