Uchouten Kazoku
Ingredients: Shapeshifting tanuki, human, and flying tengu.
Cooking style: Nabe.
In this anime’s world, there are humans, there are tengu flying in the sky, and there are tanuki who can shapeshift into basically anything. Our hero is a young tanuki who simply loves to have fun, including making himself look like a teenage boy or a schoolgirl. Nothing stand out from the firs episode, but it has potential.

Watashi ga Motenai no wa Dou Kangaetemo Omaera ga Warui
Ingredients: An anti-social girl and her extraordinary confidence.
Cooking style: Put the girl in a room, and give her computer with Internet access.
Our heroine is a girl with zero social skill. If you remember Nakata Sae from Amagami SS, this one is worse, a lot worse. Plus her face (and that eye) is one of a kind. Despite all that, she’s confident that she doesn’t belong to the category of “unpopular girl” because boys has talked to her six times during her three years in middle school. Yes, those six “conversations” are about asking the next class, dropping eraser and borrowing textbook.
Watching: yes, this is strangely funny

Kiniro Mosaic
Ingredients: A Japanese girl, London.
Cooking style: Put a Japanese girl in London, make her live with a local family.
During the first few minutes, I can’t help but realizing how similar this anime to Ikoku Meiro no Croisee. Luckily the characters of Kiniro Mosaic have their own charm. Depend on the execution, this anime might turn up interesting.

This is a story about an otaku circle and their new recruitment. Nothing flashy in the first episode, but it’s a fun watch.

Kimi no Iru Machi
Ingredients: Sweet past memories, new city, new friends.
Cooking style: Move to a new city, make new friends while stalking (err, chasing) an old crush.
I always love Kimi no Iru Machi manga and was excited when reading about a TV series. First episode shocked me a bit, they choose not to start from the beginning of the manga story. Rather, this anime takes the hero’s move to Tokyo as starting point, and treats everything before that as flashback memories. Perhaps some relevant back story will be revealed later when necessary. Considering that the actual manga story is long and has some complications, I doubt they can cover everything in one season.

Fate ⁄ Kaleid Liner Prisma Illya
Ingredients: Characters from the usual Fate series, plus a talking stick.
Cooking style: Put the characters into an alternate universe so we can use them in different storyline.
It’s the Fate story we know and love. This time taking the concept of magical girl. The usual magical wand in almost every anime about magical girl now can talk, can scold its master, can escape on its own, and can trick someone else to become its new master.

Plus we still have Ginga Kikoutai Majestic Prince and To Aru Kagaku no Railgun S continuing from Spring. And KyoAni’s “Free” is intentionally ignored (I drop it before even watching an episode).
