First impression reviews in this post: Akuma no Riddle, No Game No Life, Soul Eater Not!, Date A Live II, Seikoku no Dragonar
Akuma no Riddle
A class full of skilled assassins, with one of them is the target. No one knows who the target is. Right from the start, this anime reeks the aroma of Danganronpa. Our main heroine is a blue-haired expresionless girl. I would say that one cheerful girl in their class is not the target, or it will become too boring and obvious to reveal the mystery from the first episode. It would be interesting if the target is their homeroom teacher. Let’s see how this story develops.

No Game No Life
The legendary players known as “blank” in various online games turn out to be 2 persons. Brother and sister. Both are shut-ins and game addicts. They feel like they were born in the wrong world. Until one day a miracle happens and they arrives at a totally different world where everything is solved by playing games. This setting is annoyingly very similar to another anime I love: Mondaiji-tachi ga Isekai kara Kuru Sou Desu yo. Hopefully they will develop the story in a different way.

Soul Eater Not!
A rather weird story. Some humans can turn into weapons and some others can use the weapons (called meisters). Some sort of partnership relationship. And there’s a school for these kind of people. Our main heroine is a first-year in that school. She accidentally transformed her feet into a blade at home, so her parents send her to the special school for her talent. She’s a weapon, and the other two characters are meisters.

Date A Live II
I like the first season of this anime, despite all its weirdness. Season 2 starts rather awkward to me. The characters are still the same, but somehow I sense that the art style is a little different. I checked further and found that they changed the animation director. Personally I prefer the style of season 1. Hopefully they will compensate this with better story.

Seikoku no Dragonar
A school to teach its student to ride and tame dragons. Ash Blake, our main protagonist, is a student there, and his dragon is not awakened yet. The first episode is generally an introduction to the world setting. A dragon will only allow its breeder to ride it. The only exception is Ash. He can easily ride other people’s dragon. Still for unknown reason. By the end of this episode, Ash’ dragon finally awakes, only… it doesn’t take the form of a dragon. It takes the form of a loli girl.
