Yozakura Quartet Hana no Uta
A place where humans and youkai (monsters) live together in peace. We have a youkai with a very cool ability: to be able to create things just by saying it. Now that’s what I call imbalance ability ! Another cat-girl youkai has the ability to read people’s mind. And the seemingly innocent lost child in this first episode might be the bad guy’s boss. Interesting way to start a story.

Arpeggio of Blue Steel – Ars Nova
Battle between mankind and mysterious being called Fogs. Fogs only appear at sea as battleships, destroying every ship of mankind. As result, humans are now isolated on their own lands. Now here’s the twist: those Fogs can take human form, obviously as cute girls. Our main hero is Chihaya Gunzou, a human. Our main heroine is a Fog ship who somehow received order to obey Chihaya Gunzou.
A while ago anime can make cockroach into moe character, now they turn battleships into cute girls. It’s official: Japan can make anything moe.

Yowamushi Pedal
This is a story about cyclists. Someone who is serious about winning competitions, vs an otaku who can ride a bicycle on steep uphill road while singing his anime theme song. Not to mention this otaku can ride his bicycle on 90km return trip to Akihabara just to save train ticket money. I usually not very interested in sport anime, but I will give this one another look.
Watching: will give it few more episodes.

Sekai de Ichiban Tsuyoku Naritai!
Idols and pro wrestlers… two different world that supposedly would not meet. Here we get a group of idols, two of them got into a job of performing in a female wrestling show, resulting in one of them declaring she will go pro for the sake of the group’s pride. Sounds a bit forced, in my opinion. This whole idea about “being an idol is super hard work” is brought too far here. Sure I agree that being an idol requires some work. But so does every other occupation.
Anyway, I will give this show few more episodes and see how it goes.
Watching: if I have extra time.

Galilei Donna
Three sisters, descendants of Galileo (I assume they’re talking about that famous Galileo here). One day all three of them escaped kidnapping attempts. The oldest (Hazuki) studies law. The middle one (Kazuki) skips all group activities at school to sleep in infirmary. The youngest one (Hozuki) is a shut in who turns out to be a genius inventor. I so want that flying machine that can be folded into a small suitcase and can be transformed into a cool weapon ! The story is still kinda confusing, but it’s surely fun watching this anime !
