Akihito wakes up as a full youmu, wild and uncontrolled. Izumi is fighting the guy from Spirit Hunter Association. Mirai arrives at Ayaka’s place, only to find Ai is injured by youmu-version of Akihito.
Two of Nase siblings (Mitsuki and Hiroomi) is delayed because they have to take care of a very powerful youmu first. I never realized this before, but it seems like Mitsuki is the weakest spirit hunter among three siblings of Nase family.
Akihito escapes. Izumi calls Mitsuki, Hiroomi and Mirai to search for him. Then she explains to them that the balance between the human-side and the youmu-side of Akihito has been disturbed. When the lull ends, there’s a possibility that his human side will never return, and he will become a super powerful youmu, unbeatable and immortal. So the only possible action is to kill him before the lull ends, while he can still be killed. And the only spirit hunter capable of killing Akihito is Mirai. Even with lull weakens youmu power, he’s still very powerful.
Mirai is deeply shaken but somehow she seems to and up prepared to kill Akihito. Mitsuki doesn’t want Akihito to be killed, but she’s rather powerless. Hiroomi seems to be the only person with sufficient power who wants Akihito to stay alive.
From a document, Hiroomi finds out that Kyoukai no Kanata is the strongest youmu capable of destroying anything. Part of its body is visible outside, shapeless. That means… there’s still another part of its body, but where? It’s inside Akihito ! Akihito is the host of the Kyoukai no Kanata. And Hiroomi quickly realizes that the one who make Akihito’s human-side and youmu-side unstable was actually Izumi, his own sister. Remember last week scene when Izumi met Akihito inside that train?
That guy from Spirit Hunter Association appears again, stealing the stone from Hollow Shadow to strengthen his spear. His true intention is still unknown.
In a dramatic scene with rain and greyish color, Mirai fights Akihito. After all they’ve been through, I’m still not convinced that she will actually kill Akihito. That scene where Izumi invites Mirai to talk about something seems to hold the key of Izumi’s real plan. The last scene is Mirai putting off her glasses and about to stab Akihito, then we have to wait for another week to find out what will happen.
Brilliant episode packed with actions ! I feel sorry for poor Ai-chan. I hope she’s ok.
