Chamber, our true bro.
Gargantia’s ultimate weapon.
Again, Chamber is our hero of the day.
Pinion gets a harem ending.
Trio cuties.
Without a doubt, this is one of the most satisfying ending I’ve watched in quite a while. After Colonel Kugel’s death, Striker’s AI decided to “continue” the mission of “helping” mankind, saving them from the trouble of making decision by obeying her. Striker declared herself as God. No longer serving humans, but to be served and to be obeyed. Chamber has a different view. He is to serve humans, therefore he do not take orders from one claiming to be “God”.
In Gargantia, the golden key turns out to be an activation key for Gargantia’s ultimate weapon: a long range missile launcher, a relic from mankind’s “lost technology” which still functions properly. Gargantia, Pinion, Flange and the pirate queen work together to take care of Kugel’s worshipers and manage to get things under control. After causing major trouble, Pinion manages to redeem himself through his mechanic skill. He was prepared to sacrifice himself to protect the weapons from “lost technology”. The pirate queen ends up saving him, and Gargantia’s long range missile destroys the entire weapons.
Now everything lies on the battle between Chamber and Striker. Chamber’s ultimate battle mode requires Ledo to sync his biological body into the machine’s system, and prolonged use will lead to Ledo’s death. When reaching a critical point of Ledo’s life, Chamber asks final confirmation from Ledo about his life-sacrifice. And Ledo’s answer makes Chamber decides that Ledo is no longer fit for battle. Chamber separate Ledo from his main body and sacrifice himself to destroy Striker. Both robots blow into pieces together.
Nice final episode. All become more dramatic thanks to Chamber’s sarcastic answers towards Striker’s commands. Unless you see Chamber as the main hero, this story concludes with a happy ending. Ledo returns to Gargantia and get a second chance to re-start his life. This time, adjusting to Earth’s way of life.
