Ledo finally meets another person from his own kind: his former (or still?) commander: Colonel Kugel. Unlike Ledo who tries to coexist with Gargantia fleet earlier, Kugel created Providence, a kingdom-like colony and put himself as the great leader with absolute power. His plan is quite simple, to conquer all humans on Earth in the name of “preparing” them for their future battle against Hideauze. According to his view, bringing order to a fleet increase the fleet’s efficiency to mobilize against enemy, thus defined as increasing their “well-being”. It’s amazing how twisting point of view plus an enormous of power lead to a massive difference in action.
On the parallel story, Pinion is now recruited as an engineer officer. Well, I’m glad he realizes his mistake by being arrogant and broadcasting challenges to all ships nearby. At least, this time he agrees to work for Kugel’s fleet on the account of protecting his people at Sea of Fog (Flange’s fleet). However, guess what will be Pinion’s main task? To repair weapons from the “lost” technology. The final goal is obvious, for Kugel’s grand plan to “unite” humans on the planet to move according his will.
Now, by the end of this episode, Kugel’s first request to Ledo is defeating a fleet. And as we can guess, the first target is… Gargantia.
