What would you believe if things you can see with your eyes can be an delusion? What is reality? What is delusion? If two or more people having the same delusion and all see one particular object, can they call it “reality”? What if the world is actually controlled by some people who can decide what we see? If you are God and the delusion becomes reality. I started watching this anime with a skeptical opinion. Well, it started with a high-school student who is totally withdrawn himself from “reality”. Nishijou Takumi, a true otaku. Goes to school just to fulfill the minimum attendance requirement to graduate. Locks himself out of the “3D world” by playing game and watching anime. Constantly talking to his “delusional” imaginary friend “Seira” (heroine character of an anime that he likes). Next, the story shows us a sadistic murder scene, a part of a serial event named “New Genes”. Somehow, Takumi and his delusional personality got in the crime scene and can not differentiate between “truth” or “delusion”. See what I mean? Not a very promising start. The only thing that keep me watching the next episodes is the very first scene of Takumi and a pink-haired girl named Rimi. There is a weird looking weapon in her hands, and that tickles a bit of my curiosity about this series. As the story flows, there are cute girls who can “create” a sword from nothingness. D-sword, a transparent-weird-looking sword that can materialize and become part of “reality”. Who are these girls with d-swords? What really happens? Well, I’ll let you to find out yourself. A surprisingly interesting anime with great storyline and complex mystery revealing. From a not-so-interesting title, this anime has became my favorite this season ! A fresh concept, nice graphic, great sword design, and lots of “magical” combat scenes. A must-see for lovers of fantasy genre. Recommended for age 17+ (blood and murder scenes). My rating : ★★★☆☆ Seiyuu
