Continuing the chess battle from last week, Sora changed the game entirely into a psychological war game. After the enemy’s queen changed side, he uses another mind game to change her into a new group. Not white, not black. Now we have a chess game with three colors: white, black and red. Soon some of the enemy’s chess pieces joins the red group, creating a revolt within the enemy’s side. Kurami handles the situation by issuing orders with absolute power, making her a tyrant. And somehow black’s king is killed by something other than participant chess pieces.

Sora and Shiro win the chess game and claim the title of king/queen. A little problem arises. Initially they thought only one of them can become king/queen, so our favorite siblings decide who to become king/queen using game. And after super long game, they beat each other alternately, resulting in tie situation. Then suddenly both of them can become king/queen. Apparently they didn’t read the “rules” correctly.

So both of them are crowned as king/queen. Sora’s speech about how humanity should be proud of being the weakest race is rather interesting, but I guess it suits the storyline well. Soon after being crowned, Sora and Shiro declare war to all other races. After a slow progress last week, now we have sudden rapid development of the story.

To make things even more interesting, Tet (the realm’s God) appears and have his second conversation with the siblings. Now we know how this anime will end. Both of them are going to conquer other races and win the right to challenge Tet as God. In that realm, EVERYTHING is decided by game, including the position of “the true God” itself. If you still remember that Tet lost the chess game against Blank in first episode, that’s the first time Tet ever lose in a game. How very interesting !

Love this episode. Lastly, something a bit unrelated: since I write this on Star Wars Day (May 4th), allow me to say “May the 4th be with you” 🙂
