This week, our “poor” God meets a “more proper” God: Tenjin, the God of learning. I kinda feel bad for Yato. First, his own shinki quits. Then he gets a new shinki who doesn’t respect him at all. Now his own shinki bows to another God (Tenjin) right in front of him. To make things worse, Yato’s former shinki (Tomone) becomes Tenjin’s shinki, taking a new name: Mayu.
I laughed so hard watching this episode. It’s certainly an interesting idea to show such a large gap between two Shinto Gods. Plus that joke about large bill and not enough change is funny.
Now the real issue. Tenjin asks for Yato’s help to take care of an ayakashi who seduced humans to commit suicide. As much as Yato doesn’t like to receive “order” from Tenjin, he ends up helping because he doesn’t want his shinki to see living humans throwing their life away. Each shinki has past life and they died not because of suicide, so they still want to live.
Nice episode and good character development. Not so much progress on Hiyori’s recovery though.
