The sword of Exodus.
Hakaze, now a normal girl without any power.
The trio, their happy moments.
Aika’s last message.
Yoshino doesn’t die from that shot. Just a minor wound on his arm.
Nice final battle against Tree of Genesis. Just when Megumu is about to lose, Sword of Exodus appears from Tree of Exodus. Turns out, it’s the only weapon capable of destroying Tree of Genesis.
Human civilization wins. Both trees are now gone, along with magic. So the entire Kusaribe clan, including Hakaze, are now normal human beings with no special power at all.
After saving the world, Megumu finally gathers his courage to contact his ex-girlfriend. It was not shown whether they go back together or not. But as Megumu is pretty much a different person, it doesn’t even matter. Even if the girl refuses to accept him back, I’m sure Megumu will find another person more worthy of “the man who saved the world”.
Mahiro and Yoshino travels by train. They watch Aika’s last message on the train, which apparently is a video message. The message itself is nothing special, except when Aika teased to show her naked body, which turned out to be final joke. Yes, she still managed to make these two boys flustered, even after her death.
In the end, Aika’s death was indeed the trigger for everything to start, at least from “real” timeline point of view. In that sense, she committed her suicide, knowing the result of what WILL happen after her death, but she herself didn’t plan the entire things.
Mahiro and Yoshino visits Aika’s grave. Finally say their final farewell and continue their new life. Mahiro has an appointment with a girl he saved during the “turn-to-metal” crisis. Yoshino and Hakaze run towards each other as the closing scene of this series. As Aika said “the beginning is the end, and the end is the beginning.” This excellent story ends by each of the characters starts their new life, their new beginnings.
